Baqai Medical University is located in Karachi. The Baqais ( Dr.Fareed Uddin Baqai and Dr.Zahida Baqai) both medical practitioners and surgeons by profession, after completing their medical education in Pakistan and Great Britain, started practicing the art of healing in an underdeveloped country and a fast-growing city of Karachi. The enormity and complexity of health care problems and the paucity of proper infrastructures for health care delivery systems motivated them to develop a comprehensive concept of community development based on self-reliance and without depending upon the public sector financing.

Baqai Medical University is a public sector university and it is located on Super Highway, Toll Plaza, Gadap suburb of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It was established in the year 1988 and is ranked number 13 in the HEC rankings for medical universities in Pakistan. It is not affiliated to any instead the university has its charter.  Courses offered here are in medicine, dentistry, health management sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, and veterinary science, and there are interdisciplinary courses.

Baqai Medical University has made a permanent Admission Department under the sponsorship and visionary guidance of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Zahida Baqai who is responsible for all matters about admissions including Admission tests, Interviews, and Selections of Candidates. This department guides the parents and students. There are no reserved seats even for the Baqai Foundation or for the relatives/children of the members of the teaching faculty.
After the completion of the Admission process, the list of selected candidates is displayed on the notice board of the University and Baqai University Hospital, Nazimabad. Failure to submit the required fee until the announced date will result in the termination of the candidature.

Eligibility Criteria for MBBS
1. Minimum Requirement for MBBS is 60% in H.Sc. (Pre Medical Group).
2.O & A Level Students have to obtain an Equivalence Certificate from IBCC (Inter Board Committee of Chairmen). Equivalency must be a minimum of 60% with medical subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry).

Eligibility Criteria for BDS
1.Minimum Requirement for BDS is 60% in H.Sc. (Pre Medical Group).
2.O & A Level Students have to obtain an Equivalence Certificate from IBCC (Inter Board Committee of Chairmen). Equivalency must be a minimum of 60% with medical subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry).

Eligibility Criteria for Doctor Of Pharmacy (PHARM. D.)
1.Minimum Requirement for Physiotherapy is 55% in H.Sc (Pre Medical Group).
2.O & A Level Students have to obtain an Equivalence Certificate from IBCC (Inter Board Committee of Chairmen). Equivalency must be a minimum of 55% with medical subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry)

Eligibility Criteria for B.S. Nursing
1.Minimum Requirement for Nursing is 55% in H.Sc (Pre Medical Group).
2.O & A Level Students have to obtain an Equivalence Certificate from IBCC (Inter Board Committee of Chairmen). Equivalency must be a minimum of 55% with medical subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry).

1. Minimum Requirement for Medical Technology is 55% in H.Sc. (Pre Medical Group).
2.O & A Level Students have to obtain an Equivalence Certificate from IBCC (Inter Board Committee of Chairmen). Equivalency must be a minimum of 55% with medical subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry).

The candidates applying from Pakistan or overseas download the Form from the website: www.baqai.edu.pk and pay fees through bank draft or pay the order in the favor of “Baqai Medical University”. It remains the responsibility of the applicant to complete the application requirements according to the instructions and schedule. No reminders are sent by the Admission office. Once acknowledged, an application will not be returned.
