Ziauddin University is an HEC-accredited degree-awarding institution named after Sir Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad, a famous academician, philosopher, mathematician, and political figure. His objective was to provide quality education to Muslims of the Subcontinent. The School of Nursing was established and approved by the Pakistan Nursing Council in1986, marking the first step toward the formation of an academic arm of the Ziauddin Group. In 2009, the institution has renamed the College of Nursing, and it has since offered a number of programs to graduate and undergraduate students.

The Sindh Government approved the establishment of the Dr. Ziauddin Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in August 1994. The institute could grant its own postgraduate degrees and diplomas as a result of this legislation. Ziauddin Medical University was established in October 1995,   after the Sindh Assembly passed Act VI of 1995. On December 13th,2005, Ziauddin Medical University was chartered as Ziauddin University under the ‘The Ziauddin University (Amendment ACT 2003).

When it first began to flourish, it was in the medical sciences field, but as time went on, it became one of the most diversified institutions. ZU offers degrees in the following fields: Medicine, Pharmaceutics, Biomedical Engineering, and Allied Health Sciences; Media and Communications; Physical Therapy; Nursing; and Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences.

Through excellence in teaching, research, and public service, Ziauddin University aims to enhance knowledge in health sciences. The institution aims to produce graduates who will contribute to the enhancement of health education and the promotion of healthy lifestyles in people from all socio-economic strata of Pakistan through their education and training.

Eligibility criteria are different for admission in different disciplines at Ziauddin Medical University. Ziauddin University requires all applicants to take an entrance exam before they may be admitted. Entrance examinations are required regardless of whether you are applying on reserved seats, open merit, self-finance, or disability quota.

Admission Criteria for Undergraduate
1. Intermediate Science with a minimum of 65% marks for undergraduate programs.
2.  Intermediate Science with a minimum of 70% marks is necessary for admission in Medical Sciences with passed MDCAT.
3. Candidates who have completed their bachelor’s degree with good grades can easily gain admission to the University’s medical diploma programs.

Good & healthy environment for study having a very intellectual faculty, but having a lots of knowledge they don’t know how to deliver it..Dean is very cooperative their 5 year’s program degree remarks good impact within health community it would b better if they can review their prospectus and decrease per semester fees.. good side was strictly focused credit hours of each subject and attendance percentage of students per semester as well..but at the end I say after consuming a lot of time and money I got peice of paper

as a degree which is totally equal with other universities who didn’t have a laboratory to practice..I chose ZU for lab services for expertise of theory as well as practical.
