University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Narowal Campus
District is a district in the province of Punjab of Pakistan formed in 1991. Narowal is known for its University the campus of which
was established in 2012 and for various famous politicians. The city is also known for its Faiz Ahmed Park
named after the Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz who was born in a village Kala Qadir
in Narowal District.
Kartarpur is also located in this district.
This district has extremes of climate. Summer season starts from April till October. The mean maximum and minimum temperature during these months are 40 and 24 degree.
The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Narowal campus is the sub-campus of UVAS Lahore and was established in 2017 by the government of Punjab and is located at 5-KM Shakargarh Road, Narowal.
Students with HSSC (Part II) certificate or equivalent examination and awaiting results can apply for admission.
Selection Criteria for Undergraduate Programs:
12 years of education related to field and passed with at least second division from any registered institution and 50% marks are required for entry test.
Selection Criteria for Graduate Programs:
16 years of education with at least second division with aggregate 45% in the annual system and 2.5 cgpa is required in the semester system and 50% marks are required for entry test.
UVAS offers financial support to every deserving student in different forms. Limited merit scholarships are awarded every year are also offered by organizations such as;
– Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarships Program 2019.
– HEC Needs Based Scholarship Program Announced.
Students are not allowed to receive more than one scholarship at a time out of Government Revenues. Financial support is also available to students belonging to financially constrained families.
UVAS has a good position in research in the various fields of agriculture and science. Research allows institutes to grow, develop and connects the activities directly to education. It helps to maintain the economic level of the university, connects the teacher with student and modern education
Conducting seminars and workshops in universities is very helpful for students to build their confidence and knowledge. Students are always interested in doing/learning something new. UVAS has conducted many seminars like a seminar on the Role of Intellectual Property Rights in Academia, Facilitating seminars and activities like supporting the universities strategic research directions and policies,Increasing and diversifying external research funding, improving translation of research into public benefit and many more.
