The Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law, SZABUL is the first law university in Pakistan. The SZABUL located in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It is a public sector institute. The SZABUL is recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. The university is awarded by the Pakistan Bar Council for the degree of LLB. With the changing trends in legal education, it had become increasingly important to establish a Law University in Pakistan that is lined with the world’s leading universities and international standards. Legal education has advanced dramatically across the globe in recent years and Pakistani law schools lag the proper experience, legal scholarships, and academia, thereby arising a dire need for training professional lawyers.
This University was named after the political figure, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, who himself was a leading lawyer qualified as Lincoln’s inn, London barrister. The university was established to fulfill his wishes of creating a high-quality educational institution of law. The institute provides various degree programs and certificates and diploma courses in various fields of law and affiliated subjects. The faculty is composed of highly educated staff and the institute frequently conducts seminars and workshops allowing the student s to learn and practice their skills equally.

The SZABUL administers education in undergraduate graduate and postgraduate programs.
Selection Criteria for Undergraduate Programs
1. Candidate passed 12-years of field related education.
2. At least with the second division from any recognized institution.
3. 50% marks in the entry test.
Selection Criteria for Graduate Programs
1. The candidate passed 16-years of education with a 50% minimum.
2. 50% marks in entry test
3. The selected candidates will be screened during the interview.
Selection Criteria for Postgraduate Programs
1. The candidate scored 70% at least in graduate programs
2. 50% in entry test.

Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of law provides funded scholarships for needy students to encourage them to pursue their dream and build a career. The scholarships include the HEC Need-Based scholarships and Merit-Based scholarships (based on grades and/or research performance).

The research system provides effective training that increases academic knowledge and installs professional expertise. This university (SZABUL) takes interest in research and promotes such activities to increase the productivity and efficiency of student learning.
SZABUL organizes various training programs for the students to create a balance between learning and practice. seminars are arranged for the students where they get lessons on International law, oral advocacy, and legal writing.
