The National University of Modern Languages (NUML) is a public sector university and it has other satellite campuses in different cities of Pakistan. It was inaugurated as an institute in the year 1969 and upgraded to a university in the year 2000. It provides undergraduate and post-graduate programs in various subjects including languages, linguistics, social sciences, communications, engineering, management sciences, and computer sciences. It is one of the largest universities in the country.

The mission of the National University of Modern Languages is to build, encourage and polish itself as a superb higher education institution that offers an excellent academic environment and chances for creating educated, educated, productive, and responsible citizens of Pakistan and the global citizenry via personal, intellectual,  and professional establishment. NUML is affiliated with the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan Academy of Letters, Pakistan Engineering Council, and  Association of Commonwealth Universities.

There are two intakes (Fall & Spring) for admission at the National University of Modern Languages including in its all campuses. For admission at NUML, the applicant visit the NUML admission website: onlineadmission.numl.edu.pk and apply online. A set of scanned copies of photographs and other documents should be attached as specified in the online admission form. Students have to go through an entrance test in order to get admission. A merit list is displayed online after the test.

Selection Criteria for Undergraduate Programs
1. 12 years of field-related education, passed with at least a second division from any registered institution.
2. 50% marks in the entry test.

Selection Criteria for Graduate Programs
1. 16 years of education with at least second division with an aggregate of 45% in the annual system and 2.5 CGPA in the semester system.
2. 50% marks in the entry test.

Various scholarships are offered at the National University of Modern Languages Islamabad Campus for talented and needy students. The special quota is available for the candidates of war-wounded personnel of Armed/Civil Forces and 10% seats for FATA and Baluchistan. NUML Support Fund and other Trust Funds are also available for students with poor financial income. Scholarships offered by NUML are;
