Sukkur IBA University, Sukkur is a public sector institute in Sukkur, Pakistan. Sukkur is a city in the Pakistani province of Sindh along the western bank of the Indus River, directly across from the historic city of Rohri. It is the 3rd largest city in Sindh after Karachi and Hyderabad and 14th largest city in Pakistan. New Sukkur was established during the British era alongside the village of Sukkur. Sukkur’s hill, along with the hill on the river island of Bukkur, forms what is sometimes considered the “Gate of Sindh”.
Sukkur has a hot desert climate, characterized by very hot and hazy summers with dry and cool winters. Sukkur is known for its extremely hot summers and was described as the hottest city in British India. Wind speed is low throughout the year, and sunshine is abundant. Summer is very hot as the temperature can reach 50 °C (122 °F).
Sukkur IBA University was established as a business school in 1955 by the Pakistani government. It is recognized by the Higher Education Commission and Pakistan Engineering Council. University has a total of six departments. Sukkur IBA University offers its students to get involved with the management of the university through IBA Student Council. The Council has a total of eighteen societies and clubs that they can join. These include Music, Arts & Drama Society, and others.
