MSc Accounting & Finance

A career in accounting and financial requires a high level of understanding of the theory and practical of accounting and finance. This 2 year course is designed to give student a broad-based understanding of the core subject areas which focus on empirical research methods as well as on accounting and finance practice. In Pakistan there are two options available for career in this field. Accounting Career can be started as career in financial accounting and Career in Cost and Management Accounting. A person can get himself/herself certified from Institutes of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) by getting CA (Chartered Accountancy) qualification.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 14 years of education in relevant field.
  • 50% marks in previous degree
  • Passing marks in Entry test.

Scope

There is a wide range of labour market for graduates of the Master’s in Accounting and Finance. The programme provides a very  strong foundation for the  top financial management roles such as CFO or finance director not only this but  a person can also secure positions as financial or business controller, financial or business analyst, financial or treasury manager, finance business partner, and other accounting and finance functions. Many of the graduates find qualified positions within multinational firms and organisations right after receiving their MSc degrees in respective discipline. A person having specialisation in Accounting and management control gets a strong foundation for controller and business partnering roles in financial management. In addition, he/she will be able to apply with surety for positions in business development, management consulting, and other managerial advisory functions.
