The Mohi-Ud-Din Islamic University (MIU) was inaugurated under Mohi-Ud-Din Islamic University Nerian Sharif Act, 1999, passed by the Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The main mission in making this foundation is to make graduates attired with advance knowledge along with the basic Islamic education to let them meet the challenges of the new millennium.
The main campus of the MIU is located at alluring hill station with its multiple storied buildings at Nerian Sharif (Tararkhal), Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The main campus spreads over 10 acres of area and is located at around  6,000 feet above sea level. Nigerian Sharif is located in the North East of Islamabad at a distance of 125km.
The MIU has acquired a distinctive system of examination giving due weight to internal and external assessment. This has been done after prudent consideration to reduce the disadvantages of both internal and external examination systems. The Mohi-Ud-Din Islamic University MIU is affiliated with the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The motto of the MIU is Intelligence plus character that is the true goal of education.

Admissions in the MIU are open to all candidates without any divergence of creed, caste, gender, or place of origin or domicile of any region. Foreign Students may also get admission to the MIU.  The admission form can be downloaded from the university’s website.
Selection Criteria for Undergraduate Programs
– 12 years of field related education, passed with at least second division from any registered institution.
– 50% marks in the entry test.
Selection Criteria for Graduate Programs
– 16 years of education with at least second division with an aggregate 45% in the annual system and 2.5 cgpa in the semester system.
– 50% marks in the entry test.

MIU offers “HEC Need-Based Scholarship” to the needy and poor candidates. The details of the scholarships can be taken from the Administration office and the registration is online-based. The scholarship is also provided to the potential candidates purely on a merit basis.
