Kohsar University was founded Muree by the Government of Punjab under the Muree Act of 2020. The establishment of Kohsar University is a big step towards education development especially for Muree and adjoining areas. The university location is mesmerizing surrounded by beautiful landscapes and hills. The scenic beauty provides a nourishing environment for learning. The initiation of Kohsar University will be of great advantage to students who had to move to other cities for higher education. The university aims to offer the best education platform to students with qualified teaching staff focus on the grooming and mental development of students.

At present, the institution offers a four-year BS degree program in Botany, English, Mathematics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, and Urdu, &  expanding into other disciplines like Tourism and Hotel Management.

However, Furthermore, Intermediate classes will continue under the university’s patronage and supervision. Students who pass their Intermediate test will be able to enroll in BS classes based on University criteria because a wide selection of BS subjects will be available to them for further study. The plans for research work and learning are in motion and very possible near future.

Admission to Kohsar University Muree is based on merit. An entrance exam must be passed for admission to Kohsar University. The age limit for BS is 24 years. There is no age limit for disabled students. The admission criteria are following;

1. Intermediate(FSc/FA)in equivalent subjects with at least second division is required for BS programs.
2. It is mandatory for O/A Level students to provide an equivalence certificate awarded by the foreign institutions & Interboard Committee of Chairman (IBCC).
3. Students with Degrees/certificates from Kohsar University are eligible to apply.
