The Hazara University (HU) is affiliated with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan Bar Council, and Punjab Bar Council.

The motto of the Hazara University Mansehra is “Get Knowledge”. The university was ranked No.28 in national and No.7 at the provincial level as per HEC rankings, 2015. The logo of the institute has snow-covered mountains of Kaghan in the backdrop and the Siran River in the foreground. The logo was approved by its faculty, ‘Ullema’ and the Syndicate in 2003.

The vision of the Hazara University is “to be a standard university providing affordable quality educational opportunities for students to develop scientific, socio-culture, economic and political leadership, through learner-centered teaching and research, while strengthening their identity at Regional, National and International level”.

Hazara University has a well-known name in research and publications. Pakistan Heritage is an internationally accepted and reviewed journal published every year by the Department of Archaeology of Hazara University. Admissions in Hazara University, Mansehra were based on merit. An application is filed online. An entrance exam is conducted and a list is generated of the passed candidates.

Selection Criteria for Undergraduates
1. 12 years of field-related education, passed with at least 50 % marks from a recognized institution.

Selection Criteria for Graduates
1. 16 years of field related education with at least 2.5 CGPA in the semester system
2. 50% marks in entry test

Selection Criteria for Postgraduates
1. 18 years of field related education with at least 3.0 CGPA in the semester system
2. 60% marks in entry test
