The Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) notifies the University of Agriculture (UAF), Faisalabad as the “AgriTech Park” Special Technology Zone.
According to the notification of STZA, the UAF was notified as STZ on June 13, 2022. Special technology zones are steadily expanding across the nation. The development of STZA AgriTech Park at the University of Agriculture is an effort to support the technology industry at the grassroots level by offering globally competitive incentives to the small, medium, and large-scale technology organizations as well as enabling the rapidly growing agriculture market in Pakistan.
UAF is a premier agriculture research university in Pakistan. This institution is involved in conducting research related to Agronomics, horticultural crops, natural resources and agricultural development, Plant parasites, and conservation of native plant species of Pakistan. The establishment of AgriTech Park at UAF will lead to more advanced and data-driven research in the Agriculture sector.
Last month, Chairman STZA visited Sindh Secretariat in Karachi to discuss the plan to launch tech zones thereby creating a vast number of opportunities for Pakistan’s technology industry.
