A talk was organized at COMSATS University Islamabad on 14th October 2020 about the cooperation between Japan and Pakistan. Around 300 students, faculty members, and main officials of COMSATS University Islamabad from 7 campuses were present there in the talk delivered by Mr. Shindo Yusuke, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Japan in Islamabad on “Japan: Its People, Culture and Tradition”.
Mr. Yusuke expressed his views by saying that “Harmony in society is fundamental to peace and progress”. Rector COMSATS University Islamabad, Prof. Muhammad T. Afzal on this occasion expressed gratitude to the Japanese people and government for their assistance and adding to the lives of doctoral students like him. He said that the friendly relations and cooperation between Japan and Pakistan are historically significant.
He added that with his experience in Japan as a researcher he learned a lot of things from his peers like respect for humanity, humility, and hard work. He highlighted the achievements of CUI as one of the leading universities of Information Technology in the country winning various accolades in such a short time period of two decades.
While introducing the culture, traditions, and history of Japan, Mr. Yusuke said that Japan is rich in culture and history while it is the birthplace of the latest technology. He encouraged IT professionals and students from Pakistan to learn the Japanese language and working and visiting Japan. He also said that Japan was among the least affected country in the COVID-19 pandemic, because of the hygiene and cultural practices of the people.
