MS Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Engineering

Pharmaceutical manufacturing engineering is a sub-sector of the pharmaceutical industry that involves designing, constructing, and maintaining the facilities and processes used to create pharmaceutical products. Pharmaceutical engineers also play a role in the development of these products, from supporting the generation of ideas to ensuring the final product is safe and meets regulations. Pharmaceutical engineers design the facilities used to manufacture pharmaceutical products, support the generation of product ideas, conduct research, and supervise the development of products, maintain oversight over product quality and ensure adherence to regulations, design packaging labels and package the final product and ensure a secure environment for facility staff and mitigate potential hazards for customers. The pharmaceutical manufacturing process is divided into two main stages. The first one is known as "active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing", and the second one is “formulations development." The first stage is responsible for manufacturing the active drug component, and the second stage uses this active drug and creates formulations using other non-drug material for effective binding, for release inside the body, and for preserving it for longer.
