MS/M.Phil. Pathology

MPhil Pathology is a 2-years degree program that is designed to give students a strong foundation in analytical and laboratory abilities, equipping them for a variety of careers such as doctoral study or industrial research. In addition to the research training, the degree program provides students with opportunities to broaden their experience and learn generic skills. In addition to the training, the students get in their research laboratories, all students complete induction and safety training courses in the department.
This course is designed for students interested in conducting biomedical research at a higher level than an undergraduate degree, and it gives a solid foundation in laboratory and analytical abilities. Students will join an active research laboratory and plan and carry out their own original biomedical research project. They'll learn to evaluate scientific literature critically while improving their intellectual abilities and earning transferable skills.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 16 years of education (MBBS/BDS/ BSc Hons/ MSc ) with at least 2.50/4.00 CGPA or equivalent marks
  • GAT General with 50% cumulative score
  • Pass Admission Test in required marks(as per university policy)

Scope

MPhil Pathology is a medical specialty concerned with the diagnosis of disease utilizing the techniques of chemistry, clinical microbiology, hematology, and molecular pathology in the laboratory examination of body fluids such as blood and urine, as well as tissues. Pathologists are in high demand in hospitals, research laboratories, and pharmaceutical industry. The degree holders have promising working opportunities in government and private hospitals both. Another promising opportunity is working as teaching faculty in universities and medical teaching universities. The degree can be carried forward towards PhD.
