MS Ecnomics and Finance

Finance in a lot of ways can be defined by the direct use and management of money, economics considers both material and non-material resources and how the scarcity of resources can impact local or global markets, goods and services, and human behaviour. Economics and Finance as human disciplines are two academic fields which examine the distribution of wealth and decisions about markets and assets. Economics gives a macro- understanding of the working of economy whereas finance deals with the companies working and text is self explanatory. Economics is concerned with the process of producing, distributing and consuming physical products or services. It studies how lions, lambs and all manner of people, companies, and governments make choices given limited resources. Finance in broad terms is the management of money and investments. It include identification of how people and firms manage money, making decisions on where to spend on and decision making on potential losses. Finance is mainly focused on money, and as a field of study entails evaluation of one or more factors within financial systems which include, the financial sector, credit sector, the investment sector among others. Economics is more general and abstract discipline in contrast to econometrics which can be defined as a study of economics on the society’s production and inventory.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Sixteen years of schooling or four-year of relevant education after intermediate with minimum 50% marks or minimum CGPA 2.0/4.0.
  • Applicants may be selected based on their performance in an admission test and interview.
