MS Disaster Risk Management

Disaster Risk Management aims to make disasters less likely to happen. The approach, also called Disaster Risk Management or disaster risk management, also aims to make disasters less damaging when they do occur. Disaster Risk Management aims to make communities stronger and better prepared to handle disasters. In technical terms, it aims to make them more resilient or less vulnerable. When Disaster Risk Management is successful, it makes communities less the vulnerable because it mitigates the effects of disasters. This means Disaster Risk Management can make risky events fewer and less severe. Climate change can increase climate hazards. So development efforts often consider Disaster Risk Management and climate change adaptation together. Disaster risk management is the application of disaster risk reduction policies and strategies to prevent new disaster risk, reduce existing disaster risk and manage residual risk, contributing to the strengthening of resilience and reduction of disaster losses.
