The term Sociology is coined from the Latin word socius meaning companion, and logos meaning speech or reason which in effect translates to reasoned speech about companionship. Sociology as a branch of knowledge is an academic discipline called sociology, which studies society in its essence, human social activity, patterns of social relations, social interactions and conjunto cultural attributes that are inherent in daily lives. Sociology is the systematic and scientific study of society and social interaction. In order to carry out their studies, sociologists identify cultural patterns and social forces and determine how they affect individuals and groups.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 16 years education (MA/ MSc/ BS Sociology) plus departmental admission test and interview (70% for test and interview 30% Marks).
