M.phil Animal Sciences

Animal Science is concerned with the science and business of producing domestic livestock species, including but not limited to beef cattle, dairy cattle, horses, poultry, sheep, and swine. An animal scientist applies principles of the biological, physical, and social sciences to the problems associated with livestock production and management. Animal Science is also concerned with foods of animal origin: meat, dairy foods, and eggs. The food industry is one of the largest and most important industries. Animal science is concerned with aspects of companion animals, including their nutrition, care, and welfare. Animal science is described as "studying the biology of animals that are under the control of humankind". It can also be described as the production and management of farm animals. Animal science is important in modern society because it helps us understand animal biology and how to manage livestock and pets. This knowledge contributes to advancements in fields like veterinary medicine and biotechnology, and supports various industries.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Have completed 16 years of schooling or 4 years of education after HSSC, F.A, F.Sc, or Grade 12
  • Have a minimum of 2nd Division with 50% marks in the annual system, or a minimum CGPA of 2.50/4.00 in the semester system
  • They may also need to pass an entrance exam
