BS Mining Engineering

A bachelor's degree (BS)  is an undergraduate degree that focuses on science-related subjects. Students take classes in their chosen subject and then look for a job or continue their education with a post-graduate degree. A bachelor's degree in science takes 4  years to finish. Mining engineering is concerned with mine planning, design, and operation. Thermodynamics, hydraulics, engineering, material strength, and geology are among the topics covered by students. Learning how to design a mining project may include taking computer-aided design classes. Some schools may require pupils to take English, physics, or chemistry coursework.

Core Courses

  • Introduction to Mining
  • Mineralogy, Petrology, and Stratigraphy
  • Surface Mining
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Drilling & Blasting
  • Mining operation
  • Fluid mechanics
  • Mine safety
  • Geology.
  • Thermodynamics

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have cleared their  Intermediate with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as their core subjects.
  • Candidates must have scored at least 50-60% marks.
  • Passing marks in entry test.

Scope

Mining engineering occupations typically span all aspects of mineral discovery, extraction, and processing; coal and metals are the most frequent industries in which to work. Mine planning and design for both underground and surface developments is a frequent profession. Graduates can also serve as consultants, company directors, or law enforcement officers. Mining engineers may find work in both public and private firms, as well as government agencies. A mining engineering bachelor’s degree will prepare you for a career in the mining and aggregate industries, as well as graduate school. You will be able to work in all parts of mineral exploration, planning, extraction, and processing as a mining engineer. These may include the following:

  • Mining Engineer
  • Mining Geostatistician
  • Mine Planning Engineer
  • Mine Manager
  • Consulting Engineer
  • Mining Company Director
  • Mining Law enforcement officer
  • Entrepreneurship
