BS Major Economics and Minor in Finance

The Bachelor of Science in Economics & Minor in Finance is a four-year degree program introduced to provide students with an understanding of modern economics and its application to financial systems and financial institutions, as well as the analytical tools and institutional knowledge necessary to work as a financial economist in the financial services industry. During the four years, you will learn advanced financial concepts and gain the capacity to critically analyze economic events and their implications for the financial markets.

Scope

A BS in Major in Economics and Minor in Finance provides a good foundation for a variety of occupations and professions. Additionally, this course provides an excellent foundation for graduate study in business, law, economics, finance, public policy, international relations, and medicine. Additionally, it provides opportunities in government, business, and education, since government economists monitor and assess economic circumstances and conduct economic analysis to inform government programs and policies. Business economists provide the analysis necessary to make the best judgments possible in all significant facets of business operations. Along with teaching, academic economists do research and may consult with businesses and government agencies.
