BS Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry

Inorganic and analytical chemistry is the branch of chemistry analyses inorganic compounds present in diverse samples. Inorganic compounds are those which does not contains carbon and are generally present in earths crust minerals or rocks. Analytical chemistry is a branch of chemistry in which one makes use of several procedures and equipment for the identification, separation as well as measurement of content of chemical reactants in a specimen. Inorganic analytical chemistry as a branch is related with the determination of the presence and concentration of inorganic substances such as metals, metalloids and non –metals. In addition to the above, inorganic analytical chemistry is also an essential aspect of the subject known as inorganic chemistry. Inorganic chemistry is an area of chemistry that deals with the physical characteristics and chemical tendency of inorganic compounds. Molecular spectroscopy embraces the application of electromagnetic radiation in order to study chemical substances. In inorganic analytical chemistry, spectroscopy is applied to determine and measure concentrations of inorganic compounds according to their electronic, vibrational and rotational emission. The chromatographic methods often employed in inorganic analytical chemistry are ion exchange chromatography, size exclusion chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography.
