BS Geography

Geography studies places and people's interactions with their environments. Geographers study both the physical and social aspects of the Earth's surface. A geographer strives to understand the origins and evolution of phenomena. With a 4 years of Bachelor degree in Geography, you can learn about the distribution of physical and cultural phenomena on a local, regional and global scale. In other words, Geography is a study of Earth, the home of humanity, that includes historical and political geographies, cultural geographies and economic and physical geographies, regional science and cartographic methods, remote sensing, and spatial analysis.

Scope

Bachelor’s degrees in geographic education are still in high demand, and there are numerous opportunities for those who are committed to serving young people. Employment opportunities in the field have expanded significantly beyond teaching, however: The public, private, and non-governmental organization sectors employ a large number of geographers who have earned a bachelor’s degree. Geographers, for example, are prominent in the fields of urban planning and environmental planning, where they work for municipalities, counties, states, federal agencies, and advocacy organizations. Many geographers find their calling working for international organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Others pursue careers in the intelligence community.
