BS Dental Surgery

BS in Dental Surgery is a comprehensive undergraduate course of study that prepares students for their profession of dentistry. This course provides aspiring dental surgeons with knowledge and skills that shall be used to prevent, diagnose, and treat many dental conditions: the fundamental sciences of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, dental materials, oral pathology, and dental pharmacology, among many others, together with clinical practice. They participate in clinical rotations as part of their practical learning by which they learn to apply dental procedures, patient care, and communication. The program emphasizes the importance of ethical practices in dentistry and a focus on the patient. The graduates are trained for several dental procedures such as examination, filling, extraction, and preventive measures, which makes them proficient enough to provide oral health promotive and preventive services.
