BS Biomedical Engineering

Biomedical Engineering is known as one of the advanced degree programs in the sphere of Engineering. It is an innovative idea where knowledge and techniques of chemistry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, and computer science are utilized to resolve biomedical problems and diagnose diseases earlier and their treatment—for instance, artificial heart valves, synthetic skin, and diagnostic kits for blood cancer. Moreover, it enables the students to identify and critically analyze new emerging biomedical issues and then develop an advanced solution. Biomedical engineers usually work in groups for high-quality research work in laboratories. The ultimate goal is to promote research, improve the health sector and service to humankind.

Scope

Biomedical Engineering is such a diverse and innovative applied field that the scope is continuously enjoying an upward trend. As there is a massive increase in the population of the world, the health sector is overburdened; hence there is a need for quicker diagnosis and treatments of illnesses and ease for the patients. To fulfill that need, biomedical engineers play their role. Biomedical engineers are recruited by national and international health institutes, biomedical research centers, Hospitals, etc. It is an interdisciplinary program that demands passion, determination, critical thinking and opens the doors of exciting career opportunities and even leadership roles in biomedical projects.

Skilled Biomedical Engineers are in high demand in Private medical industries where a wide range of biomedical engineering products are synthesized. For instance, synthetic heart vessels, bionic hands, and feet using silicone, diagnostic kits, implants, artificial skin, etc. Following are some market domains of the health sector where graduates can apply for highly paid career opportunities.
