CPEC Consortium of Universities – 3rd Annual Conference 2019

Higher Education Commission (HEC) ISLAMABAD and COMSATS University Islamabad, organized a two-day Conference of CPEC Consortium of Universities under the theme of “Academic Collaboration for Sustainable Partnerships”. 56 universities including FUDAN University, Shanghai, Wuhan University, COMSATS University Islamabad, Sukkur IBA University, Allama Iqbal Open University from two countries were part of Consortium.

The aim of the conference is to analyze the success of academic collaborations with partner institutions, identify new areas of cooperation for the development of the human resource, expand academic linkages among the universities of Pakistan and China, promote civilizational harmony and energize people-to-people contacts, examine research projects, and areas of confluence.

Federal Minister Makhdoom Khusro Bukhtiar was Chief Guest at the opening ceremony. Mr. Yao Jing, Chinese Ambassador, Mr. Gaun Peijun Vice President Chinese Association of Higher Education along with Dr. Moeed Yousuf Chairman Strategic Policy Planning Cell, have also honored the event with their presence.

First Day of conference was based on three parallel sessions including Developing Research Universities For lead Role in National Development, Teaching Excellence for Employability of Graduates and Research Management to Solve National and Regional Challenges with a focus on CPEC.

Session on “Developing Research Universities for Lead Role in National Development” was moderated by Rector CUI, Prof. Raheel Qamar in which he discussed the importance and role of Research and Digital Education and the challenges which are expected to be there in future when we will implement the changes in the Educational Institutions.

Followed by the session on “Developing Research Universities for Lead Role in National Development”, Panel discussion was also mitigated by Prof. Raheel Qamar in which Question Answer session was held among the Professors of different Universities of Pakistan and China in which they shared their point of views on “Sustainable Development”

The conference also have a Science, Arts and Technology expo where the universities who have participated displayed their products, especially artwork.

Chinese delegates concluded the first day by visiting the Pakistan National Council Of Arts (PNCA) to see Art Galleries followed by Conference Dinner at Higher Education Commission (HEC).
