The Cadet College Palandri is spread over an area of about 60 acres.  The buildings comprise a double storied Education block, Five Hostels called Jinnah House, Iqbal House, Khan House, Sher House and Karailvi House, a Cadets Mess, and an Administrative block. The college campus has residential accommodations for the staff.  There are several playgrounds in the college for outdoor games, including hockey, football, volleyball, basketball, cricket field and an athletic track. The College also has a state-of-the-art gymnasium, which provides facilities for weight training, indoor badminton, volleyball and basketball. It also includes an international standard squash court.

The history of Cadet College Palandri dates back to the early 1970s when the government of Pakistan decided to establish a cadet college in Azad Kashmir to provide quality education and military training to young boys from remote and underprivileged areas. The college was officially inaugurated in 1998 by the then-Prime Minister of AJK. The college was built on a 60-acre campus equipped with modern facilities to provide its students with the best possible education and training.

The procedure for Admission to Cadet College Palandri (Class 8th)

1)   Age and Qualification
The candidates for admission must:-
(1) No to be under 11 years and over 14 years of age on 1 April of entry. No relaxation of the age limit whatsoever is permitted.
(2) Concur to the physical appearance of the age limit specified above.
(3) Have passed Class-VII by March of the year of entry.

2)  Written Test/ Interview/ Medical Examination

Candidates will be given written tests in MathematicsEnglish, Urdu and Islamiat.
Mathematics papers may be taken either in Urdu or English. The use of a calculator is prohibited in the Mathematics paper.
Urdu and Islamiat paper is compulsory and no alternative subject is allowed. The candidates from overseas countries must quality this paper. However, the non-Muslim candidates may leave the Islamiat part of the paper
The syllabi for the Admission Test are given in Appendix “A”. Admission to the college is through a competitive examination. The syllabi given in the prospectus are meant for the general guidance of the candidates and any question considered suitable can be set in any paper in from
The candidates who qualify for the written test be called for the interview, shall also undergo a test/interview and are found medically fit, and will be considered for admission. Seats are offered on the results of the Tests/Interview in the order of merit.

3) Examination Centers:
·        Written Test: Islamabad/College Campus
·        Interview/Medical:
      Islamabad:  For Mirpur, Bhimber, Refugees and Federal Seats.
      Palandri:     For Kotli, Poonch and  Palandri
      Muzaffarabed:For Muzaffarabed and Bagh
(1)     The application form for admission is given in Appendix “B: it is to be accompanied by an address slip in Appendix “C”. The details regarding the submission of the application forms are advertised every year in the leading English and Urdu Newspapers.

     Roll number slips are sent to eligible candidates within a reasonable period after receipt of applications.

4) Announcement of selected    candidates
After the finalization of the results, the selected candidates would be informed through a call letter along with the joining instructions.

5) Confirmation of  Admission
After receiving the call letter, the parents/ guardians must confirm whether his/her/son/ward will be joining the College or otherwise. If the confirmation is not received within 15 days of issuance of the Call letter, the claims of Selected Candidates will be no more entertained and the next candidate as per the mentioned list will be called in his place.
